Safe installation

A warning on first launch?

Zalmaya's installers are not yet signed with an Apple or Microsoft certificate, so your system may show a warning the first time. Only download Zalmaya from this page: the files are hosted on the official installer repository.

Windows

If SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, check that the file is the one downloaded here, then click Run anyway.

macOS

If macOS says the app cannot be verified, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then choose Open Anyway next to the message about Zalmaya.

Check the file

Compare the SHA-256 fingerprint shown above with your file's: certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 (Windows) or shasum -a 256 <file> (macOS).

After installing

Three minutes to get started.

  1. Choose your keyboard

In Settings, select your computer keyboard or your MIDI piano, then its size.

  2. Start with Learn

If you are a beginner, the first lesson introduces the white and black keys.

  3. Import your pieces

Add your MIDI files from the library, then play them in Practice or Performance.
